This section covers just those operators that we know manage several (or more) lodges.
And Beyond
And Beyond used to be called CC Africa, but are spreading their wings to India and Central America, so the old name didn't really cut it any more. They run something like 40 lodges now, still mostly in Southern and East Africa. They are definitely at the top end of the budget, so we have only been to a few, but we have never yet been disappointed. They have their own guiding school in Phinda - and the teaching must be top, top quality.
The Bushcamp Company
The Bushcamp Company runs half a dozen camps in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. They are generally pretty basic affairs, but the service, food and (especially) the guiding is absolutely superb. I can't recommend them enough!
Legend Lodges
Legend run lodges in seven or eight locations in South Africa and Mozambique. We have, so far, only been to Entabeni where we would certainly recommend staying in the lower part - either in Hanglip Mountain Lodge or Wildside Safari Camp.
Sun International
Sun International run large hotels and casinos all over Southern Africa. They are a huge corporation. The hotels we have stayed in have been fine - no more, no less. They are good if you like the anonymity of a hotel and can get a good deal.
